~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
For a few years now it is on this date the “song of the year” for The Now Today Ensemble has been announced.  Never a popular choice, and rarely anticipated by anyone other than one or possibly two others.  Last year was a particularly spectacular “Now Today Fortnight” (formerly Now Today Week) with the advent of a short set list, the encore being “Free Bird”.  The momentum being so great that with the help of “drop box” Sabitathica and I created a new catalogue of works.  This emerged from the good times, and spirit of Now Today Fortnight 2011 and the discovery of the newly emerging genre of “Nightmare Rock”, and so the previously announced album “The Midsummer Nightmare Ensemble: Live at the Nunnery” came to be.  So, continuing this lawful (and unpopular) momentum we will continue this work during Now Today Fortnight 2012 with “The New Winter Nightmare Ensemble”.  All are welcome to participate in what appears to be The Society’s most fruitful season yet.
May All Attain!
The Day After
Everything is fine here at TNGHbtS.
The anticipated High Tide at Midnight was un-eventful.
The “horror” peaked around 1500hrs when there was dramatic and visible bowing in the Easterly facing wall, convexing towards the West.
But, tomorrow is Samhain … and The Now Today Calendar continues.
Blood Moon
Today is the Full Blood Moon.
Combined with Frankenstorm and two forthcoming high tides could mean some excitement for us here at The New Great Hall by the Sea.
Stay tuned for status reports.
Status Report
0622hrs: wind and creaking.  last nights tide did not breach.  a noticeable uptick in wind.  hatches battened. Photo: too dark.
0710hrs: status, same as above. Photo:
0815hrs: wind steady, some house creaks.Photo:
0930hrs: with two hours before high tide we got this:
1020hrs: The locals are getting excited. People are taking pictures. A few daredevils walk the streets. Be warned: the wall has been breached. The street will be under water soon. Photo:
1512hrs: been awhile, things have changes, the tide has turned but the terror hath increased. The NGHbtS is in motion. Like a mid-level earthquake all-the-time. The front windows are bowing, the TV is swaying, the thermos atop the fridge is shaking. everything is in motion. Floodland is playing. filmz and pictures fail the moment. I did go out in rain gear, the footage was unusuable and I became a safety concern. good times. one photo:
1400hrs: The T stops running. Never in my adult life has this happened. And before that: no memory
1550hrs: considering lowering the veils in case the windows blow, it may be enough buffer to save the iMac and backup (s)
1803hrs: signing off. may the Hall remain til morning … here is the last known photograph of The Host:
More Circles
Yesterday we had the Good Fortune to have a rare “three person Circle Game”.  Winthrop Frank joined Visitor Blim and myself for two full Olympic Standard three way Circles.  Followed by some on call mingling while the catering was ordered.
Three songs seated (standard seats)
Three songs up (mingle, danse, mingle)
Three songs seated
Three songs up (danse, mingle, danse)
Thats one revolution of the Olympic Standard Three Way CIrcle Game.
For the Second Circle we introduced “Sky View” as a seating option.
Here was the playlist:
track 31 was Visitor Blim’s final selection.
Z1D
Only Saturday evening last there was a meeting within the Great Halls of Zone: Duxbury, as hosted by Visitor Blim (MPM).
Mr Y was good enough to provide limo service en route to Duxbury with a colourful stop at Haus de O en route.
Winthrop Frank was good enough to provide door opening service.
Good Times were had in Z!D, Zone Two, and Zone Three.
To everyone’s surprise and delight the film (The Resurection of Isabel) was screened in Z1D.
Paul was able to join as well.
Catering by “Cravings”.
A little after midnight we had a listen to “The Midsummer Nightmare Ensemble” with the newly released “At The Nunnery” live album.
There was a short break followed by a Sitting at 0600hrs.
Many Good Times indeed.  Hopefully we’ll see some of you folks at Extensions Saturday …
A wee absurd, but, like everything else: makes total sense
Yes friends, in April 2013 an incredible week is planned, culminating in Black Sabbath Monday XIII.
Sadly, the new “Black Sabbath Monday Sunday” will be a bit compromised.
What am I talking about here?
The Mission to See The Mission III: Stonehenge
Yes, its a working title, but The Mission and Stonehenge are included.
Apparently the newly-ish reformed almost original line up are playing 3 gigs on a boat in Bristol:
Blood Brothers
For these small gigs the lads are going by a different name, perhaps to keep the numbers lower than usual at this unusual venue with a capacity of 400.
But whilst back in The Kingdom of the Britons, we may visit STONEHENGE!
We may visit the even grander and more esoteric Avebury.
This short adventure will also include a trip to Glastonbury to visit the Abbey and pay our respects to King Arthur, founding member of Planet Earth’s division of The Now Today Society.
We’ll be staying in Bristol and we may even board this SHIP.
A possible time travel adventure may be sorted out, especially if we visit the Doctor.
In other news, Visitor Blim will be hosting the Society’s annual Horror Film Night, and Extensions Saturday is in just over 5 weeks.
Good Times
Saturday we attended the Wedding of my cousin Peter.  Me, the WIfe, Janice, and Jim (the King) got ready at Chets (now Martini’s) first.  Janice led the way into the new Sacred Heart Church via the back door near where we parked, a people avoiding maneuver that also allowed us to slyly exit and get to the reception also without bother.
Good Times ensued.
Jim did end up with 15 stitches when all was said and done:
