Indeed We had some Good Times, damn Good Times …
The Eve of BSMLive we took Janice to a marvelous Luncheon at Sako’s:
note his awesome, and totally metal backyard:
A wonderful feast of baba ganoush, tzaziki, falafel, tabouli, pita, spicy peppers, swordfish, chicken kabobs, rice pilaf, Armenian coffee, baklava, and these brilliant macaroons:
Masterful …

On the morning of BSMLive Brother Jerome and I witnessed this:
whilst sipping coffee. Followed by The Sitting. Then I was off to escort Janice to the South Shore via ferry. Here Jim (aka The King) took Janice home:
I ferried back and returned to TNGHbtS where Brother Jerome, Winthrop Frank and myself engaged in The CIrcle Game until Visitor Blim arrived, 6 hours later. Some of the fortifications were leftovers from the previous days feast:
Hmmm … the playlist:
pretty nice, right?
A toast to our driver (both past and present):
Visitor Blim arrived and we were OTM.
For years I swore I’d never return to this venue, (Great Woods), but with the Premium Service Blim provided, we parked in an exterior lot. This place was great. Other chaps “getting ready”, a civilized bathroom, and a beautiful place to be:
This was also the store of a mysterious glass-works store:
Rich in Good Times, SIFTM cards had to issued:
Then we set out for the Show:
We were entering the arena itself (some with silly-drink in hand) as the siren of War Pigs began. So good. Part of the Premium Package included having the row to ourselves, and the row in front. Did I say Premium? We were now in the Deluxe Zone. Thanks to Visitor Blim, driver and Ticket agent. Here we see an extremely rare photograph of Blim having a “Good Time”:
Sadly, we were unable to coordinate with G, but knowing he was in the house made it all right. G (aka “Rob”) was the first one I knew to embrace Black Sabbath. I think I even had the opportunity to see Ozzy with Rob in 1982 or 1983 and for reasons I dont remember I couldn’t make it. One of the few regrets of my life. I wonder if I had “made it” the Groove Factor would have been more about Black Sabbath and less about The Cult …
It wasn’t until 1987 my ears began to turn the direction more confidently in their direction. By 1990 I had the first 6 records and Ozzy stuff. And then by 1998 or so the seeds of BSM were being sown. Now here we are, here we all are: Now Today.

What a wonderful experience! Sorry about Rob. Glad nobody got hurt. God bless Blim!
Ozzy Osbourne – Diary of a Madman tour – April 6, 1982 – Providence Civic Center.
We were in 8th grade. Starfighters (obscure UK band) opened. UFO played 2nd (unfortunately post Michael Schenker).
The Opening Song was “Over the Mountain” which to me remains the greatest song I have ever seen played live. Sort of like the opening battle scene of Saving Private Ryan – hit between the eyes right from the beginning – never had a chance.
Randy was tragically killed just a few weeks before on March 19 – saw Brad Gillis (Nightranger) in his place. George Lynch (Dokken) also auditioned which to me was a great missed opportunity – Lynch is one of the few metal guitarists I think could rival Randy’s talent.
Then 30 years later, Ozzy and Sabbath still rock – N.I.B. was incredible the other night. Imagine what Randy would be doing today.

Brother Jerome put this in front of me:
From 1975:
“Over the Mountain” is one of Ozzy’s best vocals. Has The Host also identifed a Live UFO album as being the best live album ever made, per a guy at Strawberries?
UFO: Strangers in the Night from 1978. John and his supervisor Eric at Record Town at the Hanover Mall indicted it as “the best live album ever recorded”, if not even “the best album”. This was Autumn 1986 when I was witness to these claims.
Years later, as it’s playing now, I’m not sure I have much evidence to the contrary …
