One of my favourite Summers continues to roll out. Here we are at High Summer. So many damn good times and revelations. My ghost work continues and soon I’ll be an official trolley ghost host. The driver I was working with last night compared my delivery style to Alfred Hitchcock – the master of suspense.
Another Great component of these days is Persephone’s return to gig life on the road. Last week she had to go to Phoenix Arizona so, of course, I had to join. 50 hours in a very strange land can make quite an impression and I’d like to believe I made good use of the time.
One of the highlights was a visit to Frank Lloyd Wright’s Taliesin West complex. His wife, Olglivana, was one of Gurdjieff’s students and one of his primary dancers in his movements. Her influence was quite palpable. It was essentially a fourth way school and few even knew it…
There was a picture in the performance space that showcased the Gurdjieff movements. The tour guide asked if anyone knew what these dancers were. I said they were Gurdjieffians, he said “what?”, I repeated myself and he said “no they weren’t Russians, these were students that Olgivanna taught to dance” – as part of their apprenticeship program.
Hmmm … the esoteric remains just that: esoteric.

After that we drove two hours north to Jerome Arizona. I picked this place to be able to see some of the country that I never get to experience and I was attracted to the name of the winery, a place called caduceus cellars.
I forgot that Maynard from Tool got into this enterprise, it was a great surprise and comfort and revelation to be reminded of that, and that it resides at a place called Jerome. A former copper mining town, then a ghost town, now this interesting art community. High a-top a mile-high spiral up a mountain side: shocking and beautiful.

Many thanks to Visitor Blim who visited the Cats.
