So, election day looked like this:

img_5289img_5292

Post birthday good times, and an impromptu trip to The Log of Sanity.  Behind us one spies a dried out Lake Sane:img_5295

My shadow is about where the log was pre-deterioration.  Visitor Blim is about where the Pelikan II is buried:

OPETH at Radio City Music Hall

~~~
On Saturday I met Cousin Brian at South Station.  We took the train to NYC and met Tech Support.  A day of EDGTs.  OPETH were brilliant at the majestic Radio City Music Hall.
En route on the train we had the OFFICIAL listen of the new OPETH album, Sorceress. Followed by a Circle.  Here’s what we played:
Pretty nice, right?
Here are a few images of the EDGTs:
E14 Update
~~~

E Saturday draws closer.  The dreaded “E14:Illsequitis” is currently in the shoppe for a “2016 Directors Cut”.  The 74 minute opus is now at 42 minutes. Already a vast “improvement”.  Purists will be upset, but any watcher of the new edit will be relieved.  Haverhast is hoping to trim it further.  Even at 42 minutes, it seems like 8 hours.

Two more exciting stills:

The Count

~~~
As of today, 87 days until Extensions Saturday 2016.  This year we showcase one of the most problematic and experimental films of the catalogue, the dreaded “Extensions XIV: Illsequitis”.  The word, Illsequitis, was invented by the director (none other than Vlindinhauer Haverhast himself) and its meaning lies in non-sequitur.  His vision was a long film comprised of entirely non-sequiturs.  Pretty cool, right? There is talk of a new “2016 Directors Cut”.  The original comes in at 75 minutes.  Lets hope he can stretch it out!
Check out these riveting moments:
… and that’s barely the tip of the iceberg!
So, lets have a great programme and who will take the Haverhast?
Late Summer
~~~

The last big event of High Summer was the historic walk Brother Jerome and I did from the Braintree T to Warrens in Columbian Square.  Part of a “Friends of Eddie Coyle” pilgrimage.  The kick off party the night before looked like this:

“All in Service”.

Earlier this week we had the OFFICIAL Late Summer Kick off Event.  It began with a Circle Game with Beachmont Frank. 2 Circles:

Pretty nice, right?

Then we made our way to Little Asia for wings and Chinese nachos.  Surprise guest “Brett” joined us.  We then went back to Franks for good times in the pool:

6 hours later we went to the roast beef place around the corner:

Then Brett and I had an evening Ablution by the Sea

Nightmares in NYC II

~~~
So, the High Summer Nightmare Ensemble assembled in Central Park again this summer for a programme of Nightmare Rock.
The Ensemble:
Tech Support ~ Tech Support
Vlindinhauer Haverhast ~ bass, vocals
We met at a nice little spot east of the mall near a tunnel called The Willowdell Arch.
Much like last years concert, a perfect, bright, hot, bustling summer afternoon in the park.   However, noise was a slight factor at the onset.  At first some sort of rap act was doing soundcheck, then the French horn player … all quite exciting.
But, as ever, the show must go on.  We did the two set programme with encore twice.
The Set List:
I.
The Call
Nightmare I
Nightmare II
Today’s Nightmare
II.
Y-Myrelysis (part 1)
Encore
The Magician’s Prayer
Finale to “Lady Terror”
pretty nice, right?
Here are some snaps of the pre, during, and post:
Tech Support is working on the official film, if curious I’ll send you a link to a rough cut of the concert
