Combined with Frankenstorm and two forthcoming high tides could mean some excitement for us here at The New Great Hall by the Sea.

0622hrs: wind and creaking. last nights tide did not breach. a noticeable uptick in wind. hatches battened. Photo: too dark.

0930hrs: with two hours before high tide we got this:
1020hrs: The locals are getting excited. People are taking pictures. A few daredevils walk the streets. Be warned: the wall has been breached. The street will be under water soon. Photo:
1512hrs: been awhile, things have changes, the tide has turned but the terror hath increased. The NGHbtS is in motion. Like a mid-level earthquake all-the-time. The front windows are bowing, the TV is swaying, the thermos atop the fridge is shaking. everything is in motion. Floodland is playing. filmz and pictures fail the moment. I did go out in rain gear, the footage was unusuable and I became a safety concern. good times. one photo:
1400hrs: The T stops running. Never in my adult life has this happened. And before that: no memory
1550hrs: considering lowering the veils in case the windows blow, it may be enough buffer to save the iMac and backup (s)

These are terrifying winds! Lost power early afternoon. All manner of debris flying around. T has shut down before but this is the worst hurricane the city has had to my eyes. Gloria eas first i ecperienced & in city neighborhoods bob was not too bad – had Good Times with no sense of peril. It is good TNGHbtS is flexing!
Rain has pict up. I’m sure the T has closed before, i guess, but at 1400hrs seems strange. It’s a strange storm. Midnight will be dramatic …
