~~~~~~~~~~
At Extensions Saturday 2010 we realized that we were the ring-bearers of something pretty darn special. I think many of us had this realization back on Extensions Friday 1985. But with whole “20 year collected revisitation series” a new film festival has evolved. With the latest “dark time” being ebbed for some time now, coupled with “the latest technologies” there are folks “still at it” for whatever reason. At Extensions Saturday 2010 the first “Haverhast” was awarded. This was to recognize a particular highlight in an already highlighted evening. Tech Supports “Minimal Effort” really blew the roof off the Hall that year and was tantamount in the need to establish an award of sorts for this singular Event of the year. One of the Cardinal Points, as it were. As of the moment there are no guidelines, other than presentation. One can offer as many works as will fit into the programme (that may or may not increase or decrease one’s odds). Length of a Work is not a factor. Only supreme enjoyment of The Host and his perception of crowd favourite.
Last years “The Moment” took the now coveted “Haverhast” award.
This year, who will take home this most prestigious of awards?
Will it be you?
  1. HAHA!! What a truly sickening photograph (the top one)! Won’t be able to erase that image anytime soon!
    Moving on… looking forward to the madness. Now only a fortnight away!
    Question: Who won the Haverhast for Extensions Saturday 2011? The answer has slipped my mind…
    • If you review the post ahead you’ll see that “The Moment” won last years (2011) prize. “The Moment” is the third work of the newly discovered genre of “Horror-art” by Vlindinhauer Haverhast. Stills from the work are shown in this post.
      • Ah yes, I apparently missed that in the above text. And I now recall the stills, no wonder why I can’t shake the first image. At some point I feel a gathering to honor all recipients of the Haverhast will be in order. I propose an event in 2016 where we can view a retrospective of the first five.
    • Hey now, the first Haverhast was won fair ‘n square. BUT — I think there may be an issue if Vlindinhauer Haverhast wins and accepts the Haverhast two (2) years in a row. I guess we shall see, won’t we…?
  2. Looks like there are a couple of disgruntled “anonymous” posters (or should I say posers?) out there.
    Rigged or not, the bottom line remains: what is the best work of the evening.
    As Host and award namesake it is on me to decide. Sometimes the recipient is known immediately, sometimes it takes 24 hours.
    This year the talent pool is out of this world. A lot of people were saying I wouldn’t submit anything this year but retire (Haverhast in hand) like Tech Support has done.
    I say no thank you. I say I must best my previous efforts. I hope someone else wins … but, that’s looking unlikely. I now have 2 (two) submissions in the programme …
    • Hmm, well, just for the record – I haven’t retired anything… I just have other “projects” that monopolize the time I need to spearhead a work worthy of submission. This will pass. 2013 is looking to be MY year. HA!
  3. Is this the finalised programme in terms of the order of events? I noticed my entry is in the prime time position for “people leaving/passing out”. My film certainly doesn’t need any further help in that department…
